FILMING IN PETALUMA

Ever since the early days, commercial and feature film producers have loved to capture Petaluma’s charm and style on film. Some sources suggest this Victorian Riverfront Town was a feature film site as early as 1911.

In addition to the filming of American Graffiti here in 1972, Petaluma has formed the backdrop for such films as The Farmer's Daughter (1947); Ground Zero (1972); Heroes (1977); Cujo (1983); Explorers (1985); Peggy Sue Got Married (1986); Howard the Duck (1986); Tucker, The Man And His Dreams (1988); Shadow Of A Doubt (TV-1991); Basic Instinct (1992); Lolita (1996); Inventing The Abbotts (1996); Flubber (1997); Mumford (1999) and others. It is also a favorite location for the filming of television commercials.
